Prior to creating this piece, my embroideries had been small line drawings. I did prepitory drawings of this work for most of 2002 and sewed it through the spring and summer of 2003. The Artist's Standard was made for the third annual Stick to Your Guns Art Exhibition and Hog Roast in Roanoke, Virginia. It was used for the purpose of heralding our arrival. This standard has been shown at Stick to Your Guns 2003, 2004 and 2005.
