This work was commissioned by KU Medical Center in 2007 and may be viewed in the entrance of the cardiac center.   Through trial and error, I have found the most productive stitch to be the couching stitch.   Additionally, there is the added benefit that this stitch produces its own shading.   In consideration of creating this work, it was immediately apparent that my typical methods would not work.   This is the only work to date that I have used a seed stitch and the only embroidery I have ever done that felt remotely like painting.
